School Advisory Committee Charter


Mission:

We inspire students to be critical thinkers who are empowered to contribute positively in a complex world.

Committee Membership:

School principals create a school advisory committee focused on specific tasks. Committee membership will be offered to, but not limited to, representatives of the student body, teaching faculty, classified employees, district administration, parents/guardians, and the community, up to 10 members on the advisory committee.

Meeting Dates:
  • The Committee meets from October to May, starting and ending with district-wide advisory meetings

  • Committee meetings are advisory in nature. 

Terms of Office:

1. A term of appointment shall be two years.  School advisory committee members shall serve no more than three consecutive terms.

2. Individuals who have served less than one year as an appointee to fill the unexpired term for an individual who has resigned, moved from the area, dropped because of irregular attendance, etc., shall be eligible for an appointment to a full term in addition to the term served.  Individuals may not serve on more than one board advisory committee at the same time.

3. The membership year shall be July 1 through June 30 of the following year.
